ENDORSEMENTS

“I have been a psychotherapist for over 20 years, and I specialize in treating adult survivors of childhood trauma. Laura Vivian is certainly not alone as a survivor of adverse childhood events (ACE), but her vibrancy and her giftedness in sharing her story through her writing and speaking engagements are exceptional and enlightening. Her story is a beacon for those who need to know survival is possible, and a revelation for those who need to know that survival is a struggle for children in every city every day!” Julie Bellamy, LCSW

“From a victim’s perspective, Laura Vivian offered our Warrick County CASA volunteers an opportunity to hear about her childhood sexual abuse survival. Laura Vivian’s story of survival is a great addition to the Warrick County CASA training for our volunteers. Diane Alexander, Program Director for Warrick County CASA

This book is not only a compelling read, but a must read. Laura Vivian has revealed this painful chapter in her life with courage and determination. My book club read it and invited her to make a presentation for us which included not only parts of her book but statistics of sexual abuse within families as well as the signs to watch for. It was startling to realize this horror is more prevalent than we could ever imagine. Congratulations to Laura for her bravery in telling her story in this well-crafted book.” Kathleen (Kathy) Ewing — A member of the Newburgh Wyntree Book Club

(Washington, D.C.) Our nation continues to seek healing as our communities and our families mourn, grieve and find healing from the heartbreaks that have affected our youth, the escalated numbers of loss in opioid addiction, teen homelessness, daily sexual assaults, and deaths. From the heartland of America, many Women of Influence have come together to heal the brokenhearted and share their freedom of overcoming loss, sexual assaults, and their invisible wounds. The Women of Influence featured by Eden Gordon Media include mothers and daughters, victims of numerous acts of assault and altogether a powerhouse of women who fight to protect and bring healing to the victimized. A former Fortune 500 leader, an entrepreneur, a corporate trainer, a faith-based leader and a co-founder of nonprofit. Each woman has walked a very dark road and now share their stories of faith, hope, perseverance, and their journey to victory as they are featured in the nation and our Women of Influence.

Women of Influence from Oregon, Andi Buerger – Sexual Assault is an Abomination
“Regardless of age, gender or cultural background, sexual assault is an abomination of fundamental human rights. This intolerable act must be recognized as such, as well as the debilitating toll it takes on its victims. Now is the time to stand united – beyond political boundaries – against those who freely pilfer our nation’s innocence and cripple its spirit through acts of depravity.”

Andi Buerger is an international speaker, corporate trainer, educator, business owner, writer, media talent, public relations and marketing consultant, nonprofit executive, and community ambassador. Andi is the Executive Director and Co-Founder of Beulah’s Place, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization providing temporary shelter services to at-risk homeless teen boys and girls. She is in the process of locating a permanent facility in which to rescue and house more at-risk teens.

Women of Influence from California, Rachel Crawford – Healing Hearts
“I’m the co-founder of a company dedicated to the emotional well-being and healing of hearts, and those affected by sexual assault need all the support we can give them. The core of Teamotions is compassion and I strive to empower women to heal through tea, adaptogen herbs, and hope. Teamotions empowers women to take back their hearts and heal one cup of tea at a time.”

In 2011, Rachel co-founded Teamotions, an emotional well-being focused tea company that blends tea with adaptogens, remarkable herbs that are scientifically proven to boost strength and immunity, restore balance, and improve the body’s response to stress, which promotes emotional and physical healing. Teamotions was inspired by the heartbreaking deaths of Rachel’s twin daughters Aubrey and Ellie in 2008, just a few weeks after they were born. Together with her sister Crystal Tenpenny, they are on a mission to offer comfort to others in difficult times and share their message of hope and healing through tea.

A teacher, speaker, and writer, Rachel shares candidly and transparently about her journey through grief and provide real tools and insight into the healing process, especially the role tea played in sustaining and comforting her life every step of the way. Rachel believes that healing is always possible with the right support, information, and tools.

Women of Influence from California, Linda Breitman – Empowering Women
“The aftermath of sexual, emotional or physical abuse produces thoughts of fear, shame, and loss of identity. In particular, after a sexual assault, women wrestle with tormenting mindsets of shame. Through the work of my ministry, I not only see negative mindsets being transformed into ones of positive hope and a glorious future—but I also see the invisible wounds of the brokenhearted healed. Though it is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, it is really the awareness year!”

“If I could crawl inside your mind for 24 hours would I have a good day?” 80% of Christians wrestle with negative mindsets. The war between your ears affects everything you do—from personal relationships to success, in business. As a woman of faith, Linda Breitman is an ordained minister, author, and inspirational speaker. Her latest study curriculum, The Real You – Believing Your True Identity including a book, workbook, and videos, inspires people to align their thoughts with heaven and see themselves through God’s eyes.

Women of Influence from Indiana, Holly K. Dunn – Invisible Wounds of Sexual Assault
“As our nation remembers the victims of sexual assault this April 2018 for Sexual Assualt Awareness Month, I am asking our communities, our neighbors, our families, our leaders at the federal, state and local level to recognize the killer next door, sexual assault trauma. This epidemic affects our nation’s service members at a greater level that we can’t even fathom. Let us use our voices to heal the deafening sound of the invisible wounds of sexual assault.”

Holly’s work includes being the spokesperson for Holly’s House a local sexual abuse and domestic violence advocacy center which she co-founded in her hometown of Evansville, IN. That passion later evolved into her current full-time work as a motivational speaker and trainer, using her own experience and uplifting message to inspire and enlighten.
About one in five women have told their VA health care provider that they experienced sexual trauma in the military. This statistic is found in the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, Women Veterans Healthcare. On April 11, 2018, Sexual Assault Spokesperson, Author of Sole Survivor, Co-Founder of Holly’s House and inspiration speaker, Holly K. Dunn will speak to female veterans about her personal journey of PTSD and trauma sustained from her attack in 1997 by the infamous Railroad Killer.

Dunn will be featured in Eastern North Carolina by The Pamlico Rose Institute, Ruth’s House, Open Door Community Center and the Arts of the Pamlico for an evening of conversation about PTSD and the effects of sexual assault. “We all have a story, my story gives them a sense of inspiration, and there is life after…we need to remember our women veterans.” said Holly K. Dunn
